Day 3 Second clinic day......Uber Dentistry

This is the view from where we take our meals at the resort.  Beautiful.
Like out of Jurassic Park without the top Carnivores.
We are starting a nice routine.  Well, except for sleeping.  Clinic is open at 8:30, patients start arriving around 9 or so.  Almost all extractions.  The numbers today:  16 patients, 16 extractions and 2 fillings.  The extractions were mostly molars, mostly surgical, all successfully removed.

Several highlights.  First, a 3, maybe 4-year old boy shows up on the back of a motorcycle.  The Maasai Mara's Uber.  Few people have any means of transportation.  But, as you now know, everyone has a mobile phone.  So, you call a motorcycle/taxi, he comes to your mud hut and picks you up, or in this case, your little boy and takes him to the dentist!

Here is this brave, little guy, getting ready to have two teeth pulled.

First, we saw the motorcycle driver and pulled one of his teeth, then we looked at his 'fare'.  He needed two baby teeth pulled, decayed to the gumline.  No parental permission sought or needed, we pulled the little guy's teeth, got him on the motorcycle and back home he went!

As we walked to the resort for lunch, a few drops of rain came down, upon arrival 2 minutes later, a downpour, as we ate lunch, a rain apocalypse!  This lasted around 20 minutes, the sun came out, we walked back to the clinic and got back to work.

Same view as above but during the rain squall.
The last highlight of the day was a bit of commotion out in front of the clinic.  I mentioned the fence the other day to keep out elephants, well, it also keeps out lions!  One appeared on the fence line, he was chasing a small goat herd and people were not happy.  We are happy with fencing.  Indeed, our watch-warrior Massoi walks the parameter every day checking for any breaks.  Thank you Massoi!

I believe I mentioned that Gloria and I are the only two guests at the resort.
And we are only there during meals.  However, the chef does a nice job
in the presentation.  This is our lunch appetizer, spring rolls with an African twist.
Main course was a penne pasta.  Dinner was soup, salad, lamb kabobs with fresh
veggies and potatoes.  Fruit for dessert
